I'd like to transform this tired, unwelcoming and dated design on both sides of this bridge on Newport road in Cardiff’s city centre into a fresh colourful statement which reflects our vibrant city. This gateway bridge is viewed by thousands of residents, commuters and tourists everyday and it hasn’t been altered or updated in over 20 years. I’d like to turn this into a landmark, making it the people’s bridge, and show off what Cardiff has to offer.
I’d like the bridge to be bilingual, spelling out ‘Welcome/Croeso’ on one side and ‘This is Cardiff/ Dyma Caerdydd' on the other side. Each letter would represent different aspects of the city and the themes would be chosen by the general public. Once the subjects have been decided I'd like to hire an array of artists to fill each letter. I’m imagining they’ll be themes such as Welsh mythology, sporting heroes, iconic buildings, Roald Dahl, historic scenes, Spiller records, etc, etc, etc.

I need the Cardiff council , Transport for Wales [which is run by the Welsh Government] and any willing corporate sponsors to work with me and come up with a satisfactory solution.
